The Iowa African Film Festival is inaugural edition celebration of African and diaspora cinema, taking place August 6 — 8, 2026 in Des Moines, Iowa. Founded by the Kuona Foundation, the festival screens 15 finalists in each competing category — selected from hundreds of submissions across 54+ countries — alongside workshops, open panels, filmmaker conversations, an African Cultural Festival, and an Awards Ceremony.
